We don’t support the use of Stingrays (also known as “IMSI-catchers”), which are surveillance devices that can suck up sensitive, personal information from our cell phones.
You don’t have to do anything wrong to be a victim. Stingrays don't target one person -- they can vacuum up an entire neighborhood, or the private data of up to 10,000 people at once. These devices are disproportionately being used against communities of color. News reports have exposed how peaceful protesters and activists are being targeted with Stingrays.
We are calling on the Department of Justice to set standards for local law enforcement agencies that protect the public from invasive cell phone surveillance.
